Recipe description:

500g of stork, caster sugar, flour and 10 eggs for the sponge. 250g of unsalted butter and 500g of icing sugar plus 1tsp of vanilla essence. Fruit strawberries, raspberries and blueberries for decorating.

Inspiration:

You cannot have a tea party without a Victoria sponge! I took inspiration for the Union Jack to celebrate the jubilee.

  • 500g stork
  • 500g caster sugar
  • 500g Self raising flour
  • 10 eggs
  • 250g unsalted butter
  • 500g icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • Step 1

    Beat the caster sugar and stork together
  • Step 2

    Add the flour and eggs and beat until smooth
  • Step 3

    Line 2 x 8 inch baking tins and fill
  • Step 4

    Bake together for 60 minutes at 180
  • Step 5

    Allow cakes to cool and decorate as desired
